Taiwan media outlet Master Chain gets China green light (2019/12/04)

Online news outlet Master Chain is about to become the first Taiwan media company to set up shop in China. In a press conference on Wednesday, the company said it had gotten state authorization for an office in Beijing. The news has given rise to allegations that the outlet had been infiltrated by the Chinese Communist Party.

Master Chain's news event was attended by political heavyweights like KMT Honorary Chairman Lien Chan, as well Chinese tycoon Ma Chun. Speaking at the event, Master Chain CEO Chuang Li-ping called for a revival of Chinese culture. He also accused the Tsai administration of desinicizing Taiwan.
