Shuttered hotel’s furniture now free for the taking (2022/05/13)
Free furniture is up for grabs at the now-defunct Capital Hotel Arena branch. This Taipei hotel has been closed since 2019, and is scheduled for demolition in two months. The plan was originally to throw away all the furniture inside. But the demolition company has decided to give it away instead to people in need.
Available for pickup are cabinets, desks, sofas, bedside tables, pillows, and more. Most items are only gently used, and most of them are high-quality materials like wood and leather. If you're interested, act fast. Over the past few days, droves of people have showed up with professional movers to take items away.

首都大飯店小巨蛋館將拆! 館內家具免費搬
首都大飯店小巨蛋館，2019年撤出後，在去年底通過危老核准，預計兩個月內就會拆除，裡頭上千個舊家具，原本要一併被摧毀丟棄，不過，被委託的拆除公司認為，丟掉太可惜，乾脆開放民眾免費搬走，留給真正需要的人。
現場除了櫃子、桌椅、沙發，還有燈罩、枕頭等，琳瑯滿目，全都是過去首都大飯店留下來的，不僅還有6成新，而且畢竟是飯店用的家具，不只大部分都是原木，還有真皮材質的床頭板，不少民眾請來搬家公司，將大批家具全部運走，還有人一來再來。
