Taiwan on track to hit target of 25% vaccine coverage by end of July (2021/07/21)

Taiwan reported 16 new local COVID cases on Wednesday, all of them in Taipei, New Taipei and Taoyuan. Six of the cases were detected while in isolation. The health minister also reported five COVID-related deaths. He also said he'll soon announce guidelines for the lowering of Taiwan's Level 3 COVID alert.

As for Taiwan's vaccination drive, more than 5.52 million people have received at least one dose so far, reaching a vaccine coverage of 23%. Taiwan is now on track to reach the goal of 25% vaccine coverage before the end of the month.
