Report: Farglory to sell its Taipei Dome shares to Japanese investors (2018/10/10)

The Taipei Dome project has been stalled for three years now, and reports have surfaced that the project's contractor Farglory is looking to sell its stake to prevent further financial loss. The plight of the embattled company is exacerbated by the fact that its Chairman Chao Teng-hsiung is embroiled in six lawsuits, including charges of bribery and breach of trust.

It's been reported that investors made up of a Japanese enterprise and a local life insurance company have offered NT$35 billion to buy out Farglory's 60% stake in Taipei Dome. As for the contentious issue of maximum capacity in the complex, which the city government insists on restricting, the buyers are planning to resolve it by converting the original department store area to office space, effectively reducing the number of people in the complex.
