Taiwan may scrap eating ban on trains, but most other rules to stay (2021/02/22)
Our top story today. Officials say they may relax COVID rules on trains to allow eating and drinking starting March 1. But they say all other current COVID rules will stay in place for the short term. After March 1, air travelers will still need to present proof of a negative COVID-19 test and to quarantine alone at home. Face masks will remain mandatory in eight types of public spaces. Basically, we expect to only loosen this one rule for trains, starting March 1. But that won’t be confirmed until tomorrow. In our discussions with transport minister Lin, only the high-speed rail was mentioned. As for the TRA, we’ll wait to see what they suggest and confirm what will be done tomorrow.
Transport officials are due to meet Tuesday, to decide whether to lift restrictions on food and drink on trains and the High Speed Rail.

3月維持秋冬專案 一人一戶居家檢疫等措施不變
今日本土、境外移入都無新增COVID-19案例，連續2天零確診。疫情指揮中心指揮官陳時中表示，3月1日起持續實施秋冬防疫專案，包括入境持3日內體檢驗報告、一人一戶居家檢疫、八大類場所戴口罩、加強通報採檢。不過，預告高鐵可能開放飲食，沒吃的時候就戴口罩。台鐵則還要討論。

“基本上我們是預定3月1號起，唯一稍微放鬆的就是這一條，不過這也要明天指揮中心做最後的確認。我跟林部長提到只有在高鐵，另外台鐵這一部分，看看他們提出來的意見怎麼樣，明天在指揮中心再做確認。”
陳時中表示，明天會和交通部開會討論雙鐵開放飲食的可能性。
