    Wet Weekend Forecast (2014/09/02)

Temperatures soared to over 36 degrees in Taipei today on the back of last week’s excellent weather. But the forecast could soon turn, with rain and a potential tropical storm threatening the long Mid-Autumn holiday.

Beginning on Thursday, a low pressure system off the coast of the Philippines could lead to cloud cover for all of Taiwan. Temperatures will drop slightly and the possibility of rain will increase. On the actual date of Mid-Autumn Festival, this weather system will move away, giving the northern and the eastern half of Taiwan about a 50 percent chance of viewing the moon. Odds will be better in central and southern regions.
