    Marathon Flower Market
In the lead-up to Spring Festival, the Taipei Flower Auction in Neihu is gearing up to stay open for 108 hours straight. Starting next Monday, the flower market will be open 24 hours a day over five consecutive days. Shoppers will have ample time to gather up spring flowers before those April showers.

    Cheaper Bus Rides in Taichung
The Taichung City government is making it cheaper to take the bus in the Year of the Rat. Starting Jan. 26, which is the first day of the Lunar New Year, all city bus fares will be capped at NT$10. The first 10 kilometers will be free, as they are currently, and there will be a flat fare of NT$10 for any additional distance. This new policy will apply to locals and out-of-town visitors alike.

    DIY Cruise Check-In
Just in time for the holidays, the Port of Keelung has rolled out self-service check-in kiosks for cruise ship passengers. They’re the very first in Taiwan, and they shorten the check-in process to just 20 seconds. The port authority plans to upgrade to facial recognition check-in by 2021.
