Organizers say Tokyo Games to go as scheduled despite coronavirus outbreak (2020/02/13)

There's just five months to go before the Tokyo Olympics. Amid China's growing epidemic, concerns have been raised about the games going on as scheduled. On Thursday, Tokyo Olympic organizing committee chief Mori Yoshiro dismissed rumors of a change of plans. He said that that canceling or delaying the games has not been considered.

The Japanese government is reportedly working with the International Olympics Committee and the World Health Organization to develop public health measures for the games in July. So far, China's viral outbreak has prompted the cancellation of several sporting events, including the China Masters and two LPGA tournaments in Asia.
