Telecom firm, hospitals launch telemedicine in remote communities (2019/12/02)

A telecom firm and three major hospitals have launched "telemedicine" services in remote communities. The telecom's 5G network is used by large health centers, including Far East Asian Hospital, to share resources with smaller clinics.

A pilot scheme is underway at three health centers in Taitung. After local health professionals inspect patient records, they send them to large hospitals over the 5G network. The doctors there use the telemedicine platform to diagnose the patient remotely.
